The chance of infection by one or more types of HPV depends on the number of sexual partners and on the sexual history of these partners. It is not the same for all individuals. An exact percentage cannot, of course, be cited. Based on the current sexual practices of young people in the western world, the chance of infection up to the age of 50 is estimated to be higher than 90%.
