Premalignant lesions caused by HPV usually have no symptoms.
They are discovered during preventive gynaecological screening. To detect any possible lesions, the physician always starts by taking your history and then proceeds with the screening tests (Pap test and/or HPV test) and the clinical examination. Subsequently he/she decides whether any further testing will be required (Colposcopy, biopsies, etc).
