Studies carried out in both girls and young women (9-26 years old) have shown an effectiveness rate of close to 100% for both Merck’s Gardasil and Glaxo’s Cervarix as regards protection against the specific types of HPV for which each vaccine was produced. The effectiveness of the vaccines has been documented only in individuals who have received all three doses.
